Our Story
Hello, my name is Cassidy DeYoung, owner and operator of all things Fairytale Flower Farm!
I was born and raised here in DeMotte, IN where I was always exploring outside and helping out in our small family garden. Though I fell in love with nature and gardening at a young age, it wasn’t until early spring of 2021 that I fell in love with flowers.
I was a Freshman in college and Covid was still taking its toll when I decided to expand the family garden. With the help of my dad and his sawmill, we built the greenhouse and vegetable garden that you see today. I decided to try my hand at flowers in a small little patch next to the garden, and I immediately fell in love with the process. I created the first bouquet as a birthday gift for my mom, and suddenly Fairytale Flower Farm was born.
From there, I was hooked and wanted to learn everything I could about farming and the industry. I read just about every book I could find, listened to thousands of podcasts, and watched thousands of hours of video.
Now, I am a graduate of Lisa Mason Ziegler’s Flower Farming School, have three years of farming experience under my belt, and I am a senior in college. I am so honored to be able to provide you with 100% farm fresh and organic flowers and produce! I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do!
Sustainability
At Fairytale Flower Farm, I follow all organic and sustainable practices. I use no chemicals or pesticides, just natural processes and organic amendments to make our soil healthier year after year. Just ask the hundreds, maybe even thousands of bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects that have found the farm and now call it home! My favorite part about the farm is the little oasis it creates for nature to thrive in!
